We’ve had the privilege of listening to a great man of God teach and preach.  Tommy Barnett (Senior Pastor of Phoenix First) is an amazing visionary, and leader.  It’s been very encouraging to learn from this man that has been in ministry for 47 years!  He’s 70 years old and still bouncing around like he was a 18 and his passion to see the lost reached is inspiring and challenging as well. The first night we previewed over 250 ministries that are ran at his church as well as a great Word.  Tonight we were at a service and got to see over 300 people make a decision to follow Christ, wow.  We will be in Phoenix for one more day then leave on Thursday afternoon.     It’s been almost perfect trip, except that my family isn’t here…maybe next year. Tomorrow night at Kinetic (my youth ministry) will meet and my awesome wife will be speaking as well as leading the night.  I know she’ll do a great job, I am grateful to have a wife that can step in and not miss a beat.Well I’m heading off to my room, I can’t wait to see what God has in store for tomorrow.    ps – It was 77 degrees and sunny today.

All across America people of all races, economic class, and ages went out today to vote for who they think will best run the country.  All over the radio, on billboards, in businesses, the message was clear:  Get out and vote!  It’s an amazing privilege to get to vote, and it is also our responsibility as citizens to be involved in the happenings of this country.  

Even now as I write this, updates of which candidates won what state are rolling in.  In the coming year(s) this country will head in a new direction and as I kept hearing: Get out and vote!”  I was reminded to “Get down and pray!”    

1 Timothy 2:4;  1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people.  As you make your requests, plead for God’s mercy upon them, and give thanks.  2 Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity.  This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 for he wants everyone to be saved and to understand truth.  

My responsibility as a Christian is to continually pray for these candidates and to see past what ideals, plans, and morals they represent.  God wants everyone to know THE truth.  You may vote Democrat, or Republican for this next election.  Neither is wrong, however failing to seek God for wisdom and instruction is (it’s part of being godly).       

All authority is given by God and despite what candidate “i” think is best for this country, I can be sure that Jesus outdoes them all!  I’m choosing Him in January, November, and all the months in between.  As for the candidates, well I’ll keep that between me and Him.
